This weekend I discovered some new nail polish to lust after–and, lucky me, this luxury line just launched a SUPER promotion! Read more and get the coupon code after the jump.
It’s spring, I’m energetic, and I’m trying to push myself to be more active. This week’s playlist features a selection of songs that get me going right now. Of course two artists in particular are on my mind, Prince and Beyonce. If I can absorb a glimmer of the creativity, sexiness, and self-assuredness those icons pour(ed) into their music, I’ll be in for a great spring.
Eeeeeee! It’s here! It’s finally here! I have been waiting for Game of Thrones to return like a damn nerd fiend. Rather than nerd out with a full season premiere recap, I’m going to hit a few highlights and link to the GoT recaps I like. I’ll let you know what you need to know, what questions are driving me batty, and where to find more quality commentary.
A nice floral arrangement can transform a living space and transform my mood. However, these days I’m ballin’ on a budget–and flowers definitely fall on the side of expendable luxury. The solution: by shopping at my local florist, I’ve found a way to get my flowers on the cheap.
Now that the warm weather is here to stay, I’ve retired the winter scents (see ya later, Gingerbread!) and I’m all about the spring and summer candles. For spring, I love scents that are fruity, floral and lightly sweet. Here are some of my favorite affordable scented candles for warm weather, after the jump.
I love this idea from my instructor Terri, who has taught me so much about decorating cakes. One of Terri’s signature cake designs is the one word cake. I took a page from her book for this cake. I cannot think of a better word to describe my experience learning from Terri. Thank you, Terri! I can’t wait to take another class with you.
The cake pictured above is a classic white cake decorated using Wilton’s Ready to Use Decorator’s Icing, with techniques I learned in Wilton Course 1: Building Buttercream Skills.
I’m so excited to launch this blog! Brunch on the Balcony is a space to share what excites me and motivates me; to take time to feel joy and admire beauty and appreciate the little things that make me smile. You can expect to see a variety of my home crafts (from sweet treats to easy home decor), my reviews of cosmetics and beauty products, and my random reflections and musings, among other things. I’m looking forward to sharing it all with you!
This blog, like its author, is very much a work in progress. Please stick around, I’m confident there’s lots of good to come!
